DNA-binding one zinc finger (Dof) TFs are plant-specific and contain two major domains, an N-terminal conserved DNA-binding domain (Dof domain) and a C-terminal domain. Downstream of the Dof domain, serine-stretches frequently exist, which might act as the molecular hinges for the two domains. The Dof domain functions as a Cys2/Cys2 Zn2+ finger domain and specifically binds to the core sequence (AT)/AAAG of promoters. We identified 73 Dof genes, including JTY(26), LWM(23) and F106(24). all genes were divided into 9 subfamilies.
